College Trip to Bhimtal

On the 26th of October, a bunch of half-asleep, yet very excited college students made their way to ISBF at 4.15 AM. After many days of anticipation, the big day was finally here. The college trip had officially begun! The journey to Bhimtal was eventful, with everybody cracking jokes, playing games, wondering where Chirag Sir was and the President assuring us that we’d be there in 15 minutes (for 4 hours). When we finally reached Country Inn, we were all ecstatic. After a buffet lunch, everybody was outside to enjoy the amazing wintery weather; some by playing cricket and badminton and others by just sitting in the sun. That evening, everybody gathered around a bonfire, and discussed the Trek planned for the next day. Since it had been a long, tiring day, most of us went back to our rooms early. The next morning, we assembled at the Reception to start our Trek to Sat-Tal. It was freezing when we started, but then the sun came out and we started enjoying the walk. After an 8.5 km walk, we reached Sat-tal, where we were welcomed with a delicious breakfast. After devouring all the food, we headed towards the lake, where we had the option to go boating or kayaking and try river crossing. Some of us went ahead with these activities, while the others sat down, clicked pictures and ate Maggi. One of the buses came to pick us up from Sat-tal and we arrived back in time for lunch. Everybody scattered and met again for a beautiful evening where we gathered around a bonfire, sang songs and enjoyed the fire. At night, there was a dance party at the ‘Discotheque’, where all of us had a blast. The last day of the trip was relaxed and everybody was lazy. Everyone induldged in a game of “tug of war” & then went for a small trek. The Trek that was supposed to have taken place in the morning happened in the evening instead. We went for a small trek to the Bhimtal Lake, where we all enjoyed Tea and Samosas. That night, everybody stayed up till late, sang songs, played cards and bonded with each other. Nobody wanted to go home, but we were scheduled to leave at 6am A college trip is an experience everybody should have, and this one was very memorable. The bus rides, bonfires and cold nights were great, but what really made them special were the jokes that were shared, the conversations that were had and the bonds that were made. It was a wonderful trip, and i’ll never forget it, especially because it was my last college trip.
