On the evening of 18th October,2016 the Social Work Society organised a special event for all the students of ISBF, with their tagline being “Love is a four-legged word”. At this event, the students visited a non-profitable organization called Friendicoes, which is a small city shelter for all sorts of domestic animals.

Friendicoes, located in Defence Colony, started as a very small shelter and pet clinic with close to 27 dogs and 12 cats. Today, the city shelter has grown to triple its size and even runs a vast ABC program to control the population of stray dogs.

The event started at four in the evening and the students were allowed to mingle with all the pets that were being taken care of at the shelter. Feeding cats and dogs, walking around the vicinity with dogs, playing catch and posing for pictures with small little puppies were few of the activities that the students thoroughly enjoyed.

A lot of students participated in this activity and it was a marvel to see the jumpiness and enthusiasm of the animals towards their new found friends. As a token of appreciation and to help out the shelter in taking care of the animals, the students of ISBF, collected 30 kilograms worth of dog food, milk and rice, old blankets and loads of newspapers for the welfare of the animals.

The event was a super success and it was a joy watching all the students loving the company of these beautiful and amiable animals.

With a gigabyte worth of photos and a day full of memories, the students came back home with tears of joy and smiles on their faces, truly glorifying the motto of the event “Love is a four-legged word”.
