The Indian School of Business and Finance hosted XENIA 2017-18, For Building a Sustainable Future, the Annual Cultural Festival on 8th and 9th November, 2017. And this year they returned with the battle of drums and words and drama!
Xenia always stands apart from regular college festivals since it is one of the only fests that revolve around a specific theme. Not only does it cater to a plethora of audience and participants but it also witnesses the crème de la crème of Delhi-NCR in full swing. The festival started with the gracious welcome of Barkha Shukla Singh as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Barkha Shukla Singh is a social worker, women rights activist. She also served as the former member of the legislative assembly.
As the theme states ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Future’ go hand in hand. While one balances the activities of the human race, other plants the seeds of a greener future. But is it on the cards of our society to become globally sustainable? How should we proceed to reap fruits of a better tomorrow? We must seek simple solutions for the devastating problems that lie ahead of us. Xenia 2017 is the platform that makes available all possible forms of discussion, debate, drama and lots more over a span of two tremendously exciting days!
With total cash prize not far from 1,55,000INR, Xenia brought on the table events like Muses, the battle of bands and solo singers from different college around Delhi, Step-Up invited on board an array of hip- hop, funk, jazz, contemporary and other dance style varieties. Talkathon, the competition where participants ditched the classic ways of communication. They listened, they wrote and they expressed. A first hand revelation of how words get our nerves in knots and yet make all the sense in the world. Photowalk Exhibition on the flip side was for the photography freaks; the opportunity to lay out their talent and enhance it with practice and the experience of professionals in the field who created the perfect environment for pictures and nurtured art in their knowledgeable hands. Colleges who participated in the events were from Delhi University Colleges like LSR,Sri Aurobindo College,Vivekanand College, GTBIT and Surajmal college from I.P. University and other colleges participated in the events at ISBF’s Xenia. As the names suggest, there was something for everybody! Xenia created memories that will outlive all those who were present there.
