Swayam – a mentor-ship cell for women entrepreneurs, was launched by the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) on 10th September at Shangri-La, New Delhi and I was extremely lucky to get this opportunity through ISBF CSD to attend this prestigious conference. This mentor-ship cell is an amazing platform for young ladies with business ideas, for girls who are seeking guidance on how to start-up their own venture and for existing women who are looking to target greater clients. It focuses, supports and promotes on women empowerment, employment and entrepreneurship. Through their partnerships with NSIC and Verbind, World Trade Centre and various banks it aims to provide adequate funding and help in marketing ones products through exhibitions globally and nationally.
This great opportunity helped me meet few young aspiring ladies with their own start-ups. Through this event I learnt about so many new and different ideas and proposals today’s women have, to make a difference in their life and community.
After the conference in a panel discussion we were introduced to few successful ladies running profitable business and making an impact socially. Founder of Rngasutra was there to share her story of how she saw the strength of local artisans in Rajasthan and how she organised the home based artisans and help them reach the market through Fab India and IKEA. Founder of Mydala was there as well to share her story of success. I understood one thing, that is if you believe in yourself and your idea to make an impact, nothing can stop you from making it a success. Needless to say it has been a great boost to my motivation, my aim to trade in metal handicrafts just got stronger.
