Having been founded with the objective of bringing international standards of education to the Indian subcontinent, Indian School of Business & Finance has come a long way since its establishment in 2006. The programmes taught at ISBF in India, are entirely curated, assessed and regularly updated by academicians at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). As a result, the curricula of both ISBF and LSE mirror each other, making the undergraduate (honours) degree programmes and the graduate diploma programmes offered at ISBF among the leading ones in the country, in the fields of Economics, Finance and Management studies.
ISBF students enrol simultaneously as full-fledged students of the University of London (UoL), and thus become a part of a 50,000-strong international student community. They have full access to front-line virtual learning resources of the LSE and the University of London, and are able to interact directly with LSE faculty members and students from around the world via online discussion forums.
At ISBF, this international curriculum is taught by an eminently qualified and highly committed faculty group, in a close-knit teaching environment, using a pedagogy inspired and facilitated (through regular training) by the LSE. Coupled with the fact that the annual degree examinations are conducted externally via the British Council, and the fact that the examinations are set and graded by LSE academicians, all this helps ISBF students gain academic equivalence to compete with the best talent from around the globe. There are also several skill development opportunities provided to the students that not only help them excel in their studies, but also earn international transfers to prestigious institutions and placements in globally renowned firms.
In recognition of ISBF’s continued excellence as a teaching institution and student achievements at the annual LSE examinations, The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) awards two Summer School Scholarships to ISBF students every year. The awardees are selected on the basis of their academic performance at ISBF and their overall contribution to college life. The scholarships cover the full cost of tuition for a 3-week course at the LSE Summer School, as well as of accommodation in London for this period.
It is therefore no wonder that hundreds of students from across the globe aspire to study the same curriculum that Indian visionaries like the current RBI Governor Dr. Urjit Patel, Nobel Laureate Prof. Amartya Sen, former President Dr. KR Narayanan and the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar, have studied.
